The Winter Witch Series - Lissa Bilyk

Lissa was my very first editing client way back in 2022. Since then we’ve worked on 4 (almost 5!) books in the series, and to say I am proud to be a part of these stories would be a massive understatement! The Winter Witch Series is a 5-part reverse-harem fantasy, following heroine Tally Bane as she navigates her powers, find her true family and shows the world just what strong women can do.

Lissa has consistently trusted me with the characters and the world she has so carefully created and that’s something I will never take for granted.

Lissa came to me with a finished draft for her first book and the knowledge that it would turn into a series. Once we decided we were a good author-editor match, she contracted me for the rest of the series, and we’ve now been working together for over three years.

When working on fantasy books in general, I find it’s particularly important to focus on the developmental side of editing, as things can get very out of hand in some of these big crazy worlds. Maintaining a good style sheet is equally as important, especially when it comes to character consistency, naming conventions for made-up places and titles.
